Fruit and Veggie Wash

Numerous amounts of research has been done to verify the importance of washing your fruit and veggies before eating them. According to the FDA “harmful bacteria that may be in the soil or water where produce grows may come in contact with fruits and vegetables and contaminate them. Fresh produce may also become contaminated after it is harvested, such as during preparation or storage.”

Not convinced yet? How about surface pesticide residue. The traveling produce. Who knows exactly what it has endured prior to making it onto our produce shelves. Food-borne illness (food poisoning). The guy or gal who just sneezed or worse doesn’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom and handling all the produce in efforts to find the perfect one.

Try adding a couple of drops of Lemon essential oil (be sure it’s pure certified therapeutic grade quality) to a sink full of water. Place fruit and veggies in water then agitate the water for a few seconds then rinse. Easy peesie.
